The neuron-dones project has been funded by the industrial technological development centre (cdti), through the call for proposals for the science and innovation missions programme for the year 2022.

  • Development and integration of sustainable technologies replacing the conventional UPS with a VPP-MCES with energy vectors and H2, thermal and electrical storage.
  • New control technologies for the safe and optimal management of renewable energy generation and storage systems at the IFMIF-DONES particle accelerator, Granada (Spain).

Hybrid energy storage solution developed by Negratín that combines different technologies: Batteries, Hydrogen, Supercapacitors and Thermal, to seek the optimum efficiency according to the client’s needs.

  • PV generation: High-performance bifacial modules, solar trackers, string/central inverters.
  • BESS storage: Battery storage with different technologies and charging systems.
  • H2 generation: Using the most efficient technologies depending on the case (Alkaline / PEM / AEM / SOE).
  • H2 storage: H2 storage systems, in different types, as well as different pressures (200 – 900 bar), all depending on the kg needed for energy generation.
  • AFuel-Cell: H2 conversion into energy optimised based on the availability of thermal energy in the system.
  • Hybrid supercapacitors: Study of technology with long useful life (capacitor + battery), support of hybrid system.
  • Thermal storage: Using a state-of-the-art molten salt system coupled to the lithium circuit to take advantage of the thermal energy generated in its reaction with the deuterons.
